Heat pumps

Low-Carbon Heating & Cooling

Air source heat pumps deliver three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity they use. We design, install and maintain systems that cut bills and carbon without compromising on comfort.

Which heat pump is right for you?

Air-to-air heat pumps

Heat or cool the air in your rooms directly through wall, ceiling or ducted indoor units. Fast to install, provides cooling in summer and ideal for homes without wet central heating, extensions and commercial spaces.

Air-to-water heat pumps

A direct replacement for your gas or oil boiler. Heats radiators, underfloor heating and your hot water cylinder. Eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and the route to a fully fossil-fuel-free home.

How we design your system

A heat pump is only as good as its design. We never size a system from a rule of thumb.

  1. Heat-loss survey

Room-by-room calculation of your property's heat demand, insulation and existing emitters.

  2. System design

Correctly sized unit, emitter upgrades if needed, cylinder sizing and outdoor unit placement.

  3. Grant paperwork

We handle the Boiler Upgrade Scheme application on your behalf where you're eligible.

  4. Install & commission

Installed, commissioned and weather-compensated for maximum efficiency, with full handover.

Heat pump FAQs

What is the difference between an air-to-air and an air-to-water heat pump?

An air-to-air heat pump heats or cools the air directly through indoor units, much like air conditioning. An air-to-water heat pump heats water for radiators, underfloor heating and your hot water cylinder, replacing a gas or oil boiler.

Is there a government grant for heat pumps?

Eligible households in England and Wales can apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which currently offers a grant of up to £7,500 towards an air source heat pump. We will confirm your eligibility during the survey.

Will a heat pump work in a cold British winter?

Yes. Modern air source heat pumps operate efficiently well below freezing and are widely used across Scandinavia. Correct system sizing is the key, which is why we carry out a full heat-loss calculation.

Do I need to replace my radiators?

Not always. Heat pumps run at lower flow temperatures, so some properties benefit from a few larger radiators or underfloor heating. Our survey identifies exactly what, if anything, needs to change.

How noisy is a heat pump?

Outdoor units are comparable to a modern fridge. We position units carefully to comply with planning noise limits and to minimise any impact on you or your neighbours.
